Halcyon Spa, Salon and B&B is excited to announce they will be hosting their first-ever Yoga Festival – Bliss! The festival will be held August 11-14, 2022, at the Harmonie Verein Cultural Center in Augusta, MO. Spa owner Kathy Kessler has collaborated with more than 15 leaders from the yoga, health and wellness industry and as a result, they are proud to bring three and a half days filled with sessions. You choose to create your own unique experience to cultivate bliss. Each session is 90 minutes long, and 30 minutes between the sessions to allow time to integrate. The festival will feature a special guest, Ananda Das, from Sedona, AZ, with three sessions throughout the weekend. He will lead Kundalini Yoga Friday, Kirtan and Heart Song Concert Saturday at 7 p.m., and a Cacao Ceremony Sunday at 3 p.m. Sangita Devi, will be joining him in the Kirtan chanting with her angelic voice. (See the enclosed flyer for details of the event.)
Kessler has been dreaming of creating a Yoga Festival in Augusta for over a decade. Her passion for event planning started at a young age; she and her best friend planned their first dance at the Harmonie Verein, (it was the American Legion then) with help from Jerry Aholt.
Kathy has been very involved in her community over the years. Twenty-one years ago, she started Halcyon Spa and became an active member of the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce; chairing the Candlelight Christmas Walk in Augusta for many years and the Augusta Plein Air Art Festival from 2009-2019. She was the town Chairman for four years as well.
Kathy is back to organizing events and bringing her passion for yoga, health and wellness to Augusta, MO. She is excited to host the inaugural year as Halcyon celebrates twenty-one years in business. “I have envisioned having retreats, festivals and more yoga in Augusta since the inception of Halcyon. I am overjoyed to share a yoga, health and well-being festival with my community and those visiting from out of town. All are welcome to participate in new experiences to cultivate expansion and stretch us to new awarenesses and feel the love in the oneness of it all and find some bliss in our lives.” says Kessler.
The festival includes yoga for all levels, and sessions are available on sound healing, meditation, breath work, mindfulness in nature, journaling and heart-opening techniques. You can enjoy gluten-free meals in fellowship provided by Sunflower Hill Farm. On Friday, there will be three yoga sessions designed for kids ages 4 – 15, split into three age groups.
